Great agressive performance.

This live version from the Kansas gig has now been released as a remixed bonus track on the remastered Chameleon album. Another track from this same Kansas gig, 'Easy To Slip Away', also appears on the same album as a bonus track.

"Chameleon in the Shadow of the Night" was the second solo album by British singer-songwriter Peter Hammill.
The song: "In the End" is related to VdGG's decision to split, following an exhausting, demoralising and poverty-stricken experience of being a touring rock band.
The cover was designed by Paul Whitehead. It shows Peter Hammill's astrological sign scorpio twice, as a painting of a real scorpion and as part of a personal logo."

One of my ten favorite Hamill songs. Maybe not the best for poetry but here is a realy great piano run; the chords fit so thightly whith vocals than the overall effect is creepy.

Oh ... but I love the poetry too :
I promise you
I won't leave a clue
no tell-tale remark
no print from my shoe
