  • Thanks Taz. Yeah, some of the toes will command a bit. I like the '70s Case too.

I'll check out your EToe video later today.

  • Thanks jorvik!

  • Thanks! It is my favorite "pocket" knife, as you could probably tell.

The WR Case display works well for them...but if I find anymore I will have to get something else.

I used to "collect" old cutlery displays too. Still have this one and an old Catt display. Need a bigger house, is what I need for all this stuff :)

  • Hey Scott - GEC / Tidioute finally did it. I just picked up one of their Jumbo Swellcenter renditions. Probably the most exact reproduction I've ever seen. The only good thing different is they open a lot easier than thier vintage ancestors. Some of those old ones you needed a pair of pliers to open. I have the pic posted on iknifecollector and I'll be posting a video review soon.

  • the knife at 3:51 i believe is called bourbon jigging. i may be mistaken on that though.

  • those platts toenails are something else. i really like the long pull. i have an elephant toenail made by great eastern cutlery and it is one fine knife.

  • You have an amazing collection. I've only recently become interested in the Sunfish/ET, and am intrigued by the variants. Thanks for sharing this information.

  • Scott, up to 2 wk ago I had never herd of the Elephant's Toenail knife. Keep this mind, I was working under the idea that I had used all pattern type of pocket knives and could say what each one was designed for. which bring me to my question have you ever cutting anything with one ? I am wondering if you use it as a chopper or a push through or as a slicer ? the hight of the blade should make the blade stiff enough to chop, But I am not sure if the pivot pin would be bigger in one of these.

  • I love knives with character.

  • @SQWebart Strider PTCC is my carry knife.

  • @CutleryNewsJournal

What kind of knife do you usualy have in a pocket? A Toenail or something like stockman or trapper?

  • Thanks guys! It's like having a piece of cutlery history right there in my hand.

Senset- yeah, a tactical swellcenter, now that'd be cool!
