Just a short video of extreme lag with my pc.The graphics cards are using the latest AMD drivers. It completely ruins the gameplay. I'm pissed off! Thinking of selling the 6870's and going for a nvidia 590. My system plays bf2 perfectly at a constant 100 fps but with bf3 the frames go from around 60 to 1/2 FPS!

Looks like AMD are being crap with their drivers again!

Specs.
Windows 7 64
ASUS M4A89GTD PRO
1090t 6 core cpu at 4.0 ghz
4gb 1333mhz ram dual channel
sapphire 6870 toxic crossfire 970mhz +1150mhz
650w antec truepower psu

  • RIGHT. I installed 8gb of 1600mhz ram today and it definately runs better and loads faster etc. I am now running this game with everything on ultra apart from antialiasing post this is on 2x instead of 4x. The frames still drop sometimes but only to 30+ fps, so its all good. With 4x post it drops to 10 fps, but still playable...just. so the ram has definately improved the game. Well worth getting 8gb for your pc, it's so cheap too.

  • You need 8GB ram :p

  • @rewet669 thought that may be an issue too, so I orderd 8gb of dominator yesterday, ram is sooo cheap at the moment!

  • You probably need more RAM

  • The problem is not enough vram,

  • Turn texture quality down to high and it'll stop the stuttering. Also turn off anti aliasing and go into your catalyst control center and check the morphological antialiasing box. Battlefield 3 needs about 1.2 gigs of Video ram to run ultra textures. Bumping down to high saves 200 megs of texture ram and you won't notice any difference at 1080p. Antialiasing also uses a lot of Vram and resources. The MLAA you can enable in CCC looks almost as good at 1080p and uses almost no resources.

  • I have the same issues. Eyefinity or not, also two 6870's. You can see the two vids in my channel, I turned down a few settings and that 'stutter' seems to be gone now.

  • @RichardMakzel1994 You should easily be able to run this game single player with max settings, no AA but in multiplayer I am not sure.

    I have an i7 930 with 5830's in crossfire but before I got a second 5830 when I overclocked the 5830 to 975/1200 I could run bf3 100% maxed out except AA @ 1080p and the 5830 isn't as good as the 6870.

  • @jessekrynen His video cardZZZZ are not weak, that cpu is not weak either, it's not as good as the i5's or i7's but it's easily powerful enough for any modern games.
