  • Fantastic upload - thank you so much, it took me back in time to how it must have really been. Hawortth is magical - i make sure i visit at least twice a year. Wonderful place even in the depths of winter when the snow is all around and the wind is freezing. The torchlight procession is a particular favourite - not to be missed!

  • @trulylovelylady : thank you for the nice feedback : )

  • Excellent. Thanks for posting :o)

  • Well, it is always nice to share.

  • It was screened in the early 1980s

  • I live in Haworth, its a lovely place

  • @JustStoppedBy1

It might be The Brontes of Haworth written by Christopher Fry and made by Yorkshire Television in 1973. It is absolutely superb - in terms of script, performance and production.

  • This is one of the better TV programmes. Keep up to date with what is happening now by googling the Bronte Parsonage Blog.

  • So much better than Danger Mouse

  • Thank you very much for this! I've been dying to see it.

  • Thanks so much for posting this. I'm one of many who have made this "literary pilgrimage". Haworth is charming.

  • I agree, it is so lovely. I visited Haworth two years ago, when the town was a bit 'disrupted' by the arrival of Julia Roberts's niece. She was filming "Wild Child", a silly film. The only wild children deserving of the name were the Brontes, IMHO. Haworth is beautiful.

  • What a treat! Thanks for posting this documentary. There was a theatrical film that came out in the 1980's that was based on the Bronte's life- would you happen to know the name of it? It aired once on HBO- don't know the name of the film and can't find it anywhere. Thanks
