The historic town of Bacharach makes a fine home base for exploring Germany's Rhine River Valley. Like other towns along the river, Bacharach has a long tradition of vintners making wine and offering their label to the thirsty public. And its castle has become one of Germany's top hostels, with plenty of beds and a warm welcome. • Thanks for accepting my video response! Thanks to Rick for introducing me to this wonderful city. Enjoy!

  • Bacharach is beautiful! My wife and I were there last week and had a wonderful time. I can recommend the Altkoelnischerhof Hotel to stay and for dinner. The view from the hostel is well worth the short hike and the beer is cheap! Be aware that there will likely be quite a few 20somethings on the terrace making it a little less quaint than the video depicts...it is a hostel after all. ;O)

  • I like to watch videos about small German's towns because of their architecture.

  • omg looks also like Lord of the Rings, live their Hobbits? :D

  • Bacharach is my absolute favorite place in the world! Such a serene and beautiful place with the friendliest people I've ever encountered. Really makes me wish my husband and I could make it to Germany this year...

  • I am the 3rd generation traveling in bacharach, our family started coming there in 54

  • haha, my last name is bachrach, I am a relative to the Bacharach family, I think somehow the bacharach last name was changed by the germans or russians, or someone else.

  • been there for a schooltrip. great memories. in the castle is a youthhostel. we slept in one of the towers. but you always had to climb the 432 (handcounted) steps up and down to get to town...

  • I hope to one day visit Germany. I have distant family there.

  • I would LOVE to live here.
