Who the hell has the nerve to criticize anything Ben Gibbard does? The minute you can play anything half as brilliantly as him, then then you can open your stupid mouth.

This song is about someone who's in a coma. Gibbard does an AMAZING job covering it . . . as usual.

you can play a song wrong if you are trying to remake it exactly, which covers (which this is) almost never do, covers are other versions of a song. so this version isnt the same as the original and that is understandable because it is just that, a cover.

"It'll be a Breeze" is a cover and he can do what he wants because it's art. Music is borrowing and changing it up... and what a song is "supposed" to be about is super relative and ultimately doesn't matter because in this case it's about the amazing musicianship and landscape the song has.
