I enjoy the instrumentation on this album so much that I play it year round. The songs are filled with wonderful sound...and this is how some of it is made! Great Highland & Scottish Smallpipes, Uillean pipes, didgeridoo, bouzouki, wgustkesm boghran, flute, whistle, dulcimer, harp, fiddle, cello, keyboards, diembe, and bodhran.
The Crossing has a rich sound which is hard to beat. Their vocals are excellent and they arrange traditional works in a manner which gives them a totally different emotional feel. This does NOT sound like a traditional Christmas album. It is full of songs which I play year round. The beauty and different arrangements have captivated me. '"God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" is from the album, "The Court of A King, A Celtic Christmas Celebration". This was released in January 1998 and sounds as fresh and new now as it did the day it was released. Enjoy!

@jaquenuno Hello, dear friend. I am glad you found this. Thanks for commenting & letting me know you were here. There are two more songs I think you'd like by the same group. The Christ Child's Lullaby & Mitt Hjerte Alltid Vanker from the same album. I remember how you liked The Bonnie Earl of Moray with the gentle music. These 2 songs are lovely. (I will stop with the commercial). My main problem is I LOVE music & when I find something very good I want to share it. My best to you, Barbara Jean
