When your under pauline watch the springs entering the screen. Some springs land more near kongs leg, and others more on top of the gold piece where the elevators originate. Its when they land on the gold piece when you go.

@eliyale99 yeah, it was real hard at first deciding on to retreat or go up. I do mess up myself but it's like 1 out of ten or more times. I actually don't remember the last time I died on it. This board has become one of my favorites. You figure out the second spring when you're trying to get up the ladder then the rest will fall into place. Good luck. I'm starting to have games where I'm going 200k on 1 man. I just can't find the game where I can throw all those men together for a new highscore

@JoeCnNd thanks a lot. I get there with all of my jumpmen and I would say about 3/4 of the time I pass it without losing one, but I would love to be able to get there and use a save state and just practice and practice since the rest of the game is a breeze. I know in theory how to do everything, but it is particularly hard to know when to escape down the ladder. I know when to go, but when the next spring comes, if it is the wrong kind, it seems impossible to retreat. No?

@eliyale99 If you can get there with a couple of guys they have something called save states. I wanted to do it myself but I just ended up getting good at the level and beating it. Read up on the save states and you should find a way to do it and go to that save state automatically.

@bngo66 This level is tough but it's key to getting far. Even if you mastered everything else it won't do any good if you don't master timing your movements with the springs in this one. I always save all 4 guys just for this level. Sometimes I can do it and sometimes I can't. If I beat it I can normally advance to level 11 or 12.

@cebrillin Yeah but it's hard to pay attention to that and mario. I wish there was some kind of easy pattern.

this is where I normally fail...4th elevators. Is there anyway to fiddle with MAME in order to skip to 4th elevators in the arcade ROM so I can practice there?
