Thanks. I'm probably going to have my restoration done in Mexico. Labor in the US has become out of sight. I had my '52 Pontiac Chieftain, painted back original two tone, rechromed and reupholsted (seats, door panels, dome, carpeted and panels) for around $2500 in Juarez, Mexico . It took only one week. I saved about $10,000 bucks. Amazing isn't it?

I have a 58 Pontiac Chieftain, two tone white/opal mist.
I love this car and have decided to hang on to it. It has tremendous power and can really move down the highway.
Basically all it needs is paint and a little fine tuning for now. But if I decide to have it restored in the near future
what can I expect to pay to have a basic restoration? versus a total off frame restoration?

It all depends on the level you want in the end, like this car in as new condition can cost as much as $75k or more. A quality shop can charge as much as $100 per hour and can add up rapidly or you can do as much as you can yourself.
