    Maybe on the Japanese version; but the US (and Europe too I'm guessing) version has an easy mode that allows you to kill enemies and bosses easily.

    he cheats because there is no way you can shoot down the enemies on this stage so easily. if you noticed he killed air man in 2 shots which is impossible. I played this game religiously in the early 90s. it is a very difficult game.
