South African Movie Release

March 13th 2008

I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who came to the AR premiere of AT THY CALL last week friday. It was a great success, and the feed back was amazing. Also, AFDA confirms that the response was very positive and that people really enjoyed the film... that it was moving.

I want to extend a big thank you out to our sponsors and also out special guest, Mrs Jacqui Thompson (writer of the book "an Unpopular War" - http://www.struik.co.za/book.book.detail.action?id=2194 )

Also to Jeremy Mansfield for coming along to support the film.

CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS - Director's cut GOLD disc was finalized today and copies are being distributed all over the world as you read this. Many people have sent requests to see the film -- So its going to places such as LA, New York, Austrailia, New Zealand, Uk...

Also, I was interviewd on a USA radio station last week saturday in a show called the right perspective... Feel free to listen to the interview about the film and the war itself.

Next thing to do is finish up the festival cut of the film so that AT THY CALL can appear at many film festivals around the world come June this year. Thank you all for being a part of this group -- We're close to finishing the film.

Funny, in my platoon we had two "coloured" guys and one Indian guy. Our platoon NCO was a tiny Bushman guy with a huge voice, who could carry twice the load of any of us whiteys, and we were poes-bang of this oke.

No one ever told me we were going to kill kaffirs, because Swapo was anyhow full of white East Germans amd Russian "advisors" and so on. This movie looks like shite to me...

In 1987 SADF was full of Black troops, and we were in awe of 32 Ovambo battn, and Koevoet.

In response to Americans pushing SA into Angola, and then stabbing in the back with sanctions - I prefer not to generalize so much. It was different government departments in the USA. And, the former was secret (or supposed to be).

It was also said there was the back-stabbing in 1975, with the Americans not assisting South Africans in the withdrawal from Luanda.
