I think you need a whole day to visit the palace and an other day to visit the garden. Versailles is also a pretty city bordering the palace that worth to be visited.

There is a home that was built by a billionaire in Los angelos, California, in Holmby Hills I think, called Fleur de Lils, or something like that, that is modeled on Versailles. It cost only $100 million :D
