I'm not a big Jim Carrey fan when it comes to his comedies (they're just too over the top for me) - his serious roles, however, won me over. And to this day I can't picture anyone else playing Truman Burbank the way he did.

As I consider "The Truman Show" to be more of a drama rather than a comedy (even though there are lots of humorous scenes throughout the movie) I originally thought about using a song in a minor key to accompany the video.

However, as I chose the scenes I wanted to include, I realized that none of the songs were long enough, and moreover they all created an atmosphere that contained too much sadness and too little hope, joy, and anticipation.

So I finally decided upon a song whose lyrics alternately fit both Truman and Christof, and whose uplifting melody (at least to me) matched the feelings I had while watching Truman say goodbye to the life he knew and little by little get closer to reality waiting for him on the (literal) horizon of his world... :o)

  • This movie appears to be written about Michael Jackson's life in a fish bowl.

  • Bad music choice.

  • @ke11yke11z read the description he said he is a good actor, he just thinks his comedic roles are over the top. He said noone could of played truman better

  • if you're not a big jom carrey fan then why promote his movie??

  • Animal whoop,

Did you invest to much into this all source production cause you probably got priests and courts the nation over hoping you succeed after the "stigma" of what they were part only sank them farther and set them firmer the longer they were forced to be part of it...

What a beautiful paradox shit for brains!!

  • true man

  • Right choice to use this music. It fits very well to this emotional movie. Well done! Thanks for sharing this.

  • I also LOVE Jim Carrey's serious acting, although that's not his "bread and butter"....but he is an amazing actor. "Majestic" is another movie that he had a serious role in...and he was brilliant in that, too. He pours his heart and soul into every role, and I respect that of him.
