Some trucks in Japan, are mostly over killed by arts accessories, it's part of their tradition. Their also applied to cars, the term's called "Bozoku".

i wish it was painted or however it was placed there all the way. like one WHOLE side covered with it so that it would blend with the sky and not have those white borders

Besides, for some people this is a hobby.

That's nice, but they could also sell the space for others for advertising. That's quite a lot of ad space going around the country a lot of the time.
we have that here tooo, in america we get graffiti on trucks.
