Donkey Kong 64--Take Rocks Underwater

Found by COEL625. The idea is to walk into a mass of water while holding a rock, just like the glitch to hold your weapon underwater. Getting a rock to a place where you can do this is the tricky part. First, put a rock near a shore. Use swim through shores to get inside the shore and swim up to the surface near the rock. Jump toward the rock and mash B and you'll hopefully grab the rock and fall down. Then just walk into the water.

1. As you turn, the rock turns with you. When you jump onto land, Chunky will be in his rock-holding animation. Sometimes, though, he won't actually be holding anything. If you put down an invisible rock, it disappears. If you throw it in midair, you get a sizable vertical boost. You can do this with regular rocks too, which I didn't know until today.

2. Sometimes, the rock is visible and behaves like any other rock (you can put it down and pick it back up, etc.). COEL625 thinks that this has to do with the distance between where you enter the water and where you step on land. I didn't test it much, but this seems to be the case.

I haven't tried it, but COEL625 reports that you can do the trick with Hunky Chunky as well.

@eeyorelover15oe I think I know what you're talking about. If you drop a rock on an edge, the rock will blow up almost every time, but in this video, he somehow got lucky and it didn't blow up on him. If you want to do this trick yourself, then place the rock on a clearly straight platform. If this is not what you're talking about, then that's my bad!

Well, you didn't show as much of it as I thought you were possibly going to show, but you did get the point across, and by the way, I didn't even know of the strategy that you used in this video! I had my own strategy for this trick, but this a whole lot better than my way! One last thing, you could've also tried to push yourself into the wall with the rock for the same effects, but thank you very much for making this video to present my trick to the world!!!
