most schools are out for the money, check with your local community college, many of them now offer CommericalTransportation as a course, where they give credits for learning to drive, plus you they have a critera to meet, second if your really interested talk to the drivers of those comapanys, at least 4,recruiters are just that redruiters, say whatever, promise whatever, bitch just sign on the dotted line whatever!! ya feel me,, try before you by,work fore that company for a year, then think lease.

most if not all recruiters are entry level management

fuck driving them, i fix them

@Nancycarigen You will need the HAZMAT but I don't believe CRST pulls doubles or trips. Be safe out there.
-
Oh! That explains SO much. Thanks, I will think this through very well before moving forward.

great work desi...
Do you need HazMat and/or Doubles and Triples to work for CRST?

@Nancycarigen I don't know that you "NEED" a hazardous materials endorsement as a student entering trucking but training carriers would like you to have it because they want to shift risk & have a cheap labor risk. Same with doubles & triples endorsement. At Covenant they don't require it to hire you but pressure you to get it at about 3 - 6 months after you are employed by them. This is a failure in safety oversight by TSA in my opinion seeing how student crashes are not tracked & turnover high

@Nancycarigen I will also suggest to you that you google "CRST Complaints" before you commit to going to that carrier for your training and any other training carriers you are entertaining offers from. The website called "The Truckers Report" has a Good/Bad carriers section and also readp on on general consumer complaints about training carriers you are thinking about seeking employment from also.

is that a cascadia freightliner?
2010Freightliner 3 months ago
@2010Freightliner Yes, I first had a Columbia which was what I was interviewed in by Dan Rather and wrote about in my post called 'The Ride for Truck 11438" & it was still running like a champ at 650,000 miles when they sold it. My next truck was a Cascadia. not as much wise storage for a trucking gal but was nice to get a newer rig. It was also reliable.. I was very fortunate in this department... Once solo I had few breakdown issues and loved my old worn in truck

What CDL School did you go to? I went to "The CDL School" in Albany, NY for my class B license. I was promissed a job, this, that, and the other thing but the most I got out of it was my license. Ive always "played with big trucks" since I was probally 10 seeing as my gpa owned a camp and kept a few trucks there. I just feelt we were just "more students" being pushed through an assembly line. The trainers werent the best. I finally got a job 2 years later in the CDL field as a bus operator.

@gsm19911 Yes it is an assembly line of students being pushed into trucking because there are too many incentives by way of commisions & government involvement that have fueled the 'student trucker industry" I went to school in Miami at a place called @theCDLSchool they have locations i NY also. Check Out Dan rather program on iTunes called "Mind Your Loan Business" & it explains why some of these CDL Schools are making money of backs of people who just want a job
