@deckypipes Good thing it doesn't sound that way.

@hmisdalaw I hate to spoil you're thoughts - but you are really not meant to 'understand' contemporary music, just listen to it and enjoy it. Schoenberg would be turning in his grave if the only people who liked his music were the ones that understood it.

A friend of mine, who teaches schoolchildren, once said that the sounds of this piece are very similar to a group of misbehaving schoolchildren who were left alone unsupervised in the classroom!

I think the problem many people have with this type of music is that there doesn't "appear" to be any skill involved. It may be fiendishly difficult to play and compose - but that doesn't matter. If it sounds like someone has put boxing gloves on 4 children and then step back and allow the children to bang away, then what's the point?

I really don't understand Bartok ((

on n'entend pas la grosse caisse au début
le son n'est pas bon
dommage.
je crois que la qualité sonore est primordiale pour ce genre d'oeuvre

Aye to that. These people shouldn't be left out by themselves during the day.

good recording. Unfortunately the audio is not wonderful, but especially the percussionists seem well prepared. But it's not the whole first movement!

someone down there said "if you don't understand, it's your problem, not the music", and I agree.
I love this piece, and even if the audio is a bit rough, I think the performance was more than adequate.

great pieces very well performed. If you don't understand it its your problem, not the music.
