my personal strategy stay in 5th or 6th place until final lap wait for a good item like a star, lightning and steal victory from the person in 1st

i repeat NEVER stay in first place the whole race cause you WILL loose

@23animanga In this one I usually just stay in first and trail a banana/shell behind me and jam the up d-pad button. The blue shells and lightning are the only things that can get you that way, but with lightning everybody gets small so it doesn't really matter anyway.
