We used the onboard video camera to scan corn fields for a lost aircraft buried under 5 or 6 feet of corn stems. After analysis we found the aircraft and directed the search party to it's location.

  • How long did it take to analyze the video and find the aircraft?

  • Analysis took about 5 minutes.

  • What was the aircraft and the camera system used? Did you have real time ground monitoring or did you have to download the files?

  • Multiplex curalis with USB camera. We had to download and analyze the video.

  • What type of RC aircraft was it? it looks like a self powered glider judging by the on and off of the motor. Or did you do that to keep it slow?

  • Since it wasn't a live video transmission, I don't fully understand how it was coordinated with the people on the ground. So was it a coincidence then that the camera spotted the plane right before you decided to head back to the landing strip and land? Was this the only flight you had to make to find it?

  • Thank's got all the parts back
