@MrScottKramer it's alittle more complicated than that. Do you want to just "make games" or be able to "program/ program games"? You must ask yourself this first. If you just want to "make games" Try GameMaker, I hear it's pretty decent. If you want to program: 1)choose a Programming language, Learn it. 2)Choose compatible Gaming Engine, Learn it's API 3)Learn Gaming Theory Half you learn before jumping into game, Half of this you learn as you go about creating the game. if I make a game on a software, can I save the game design and load it in a different software, a better one? I want to get into game programming. and what is the best software to build games today? I want my ragdoll to fight like Ninja Gadden. I know I miss spelled that. and how many softwares can I use to make one game? thanks for the help.
