Like his song titled "Lewis and Clark", Tommy uses a capo -- which I believe helps him get the resonant treble ringing effect from the guitar. The guitar itself is miked up to the max to capitalize on its acoustic qualities. The guy is an absolute brilliant guitarist and musician.
