Yummy cake pops are all the rage ever since they been seen at Starbucks. It's such a great idea, especially as a complement to coffee. It's great for parties, showers or weddings. It a new way to enjoy chocolate, cake and anything yummy on a stick. It's surprisingly simple to make with very amazing results.

Chocolate cake mix made(need eggs-2, oil, water)
ready made frosting jar(betty crocker etc.)
lollipop sticks
2 T. crisco
chocolate chips(1 bag) to melt
Peanuts or any nuts
Misc: sprinkles, white chocolate for drizzling, etc.

Just bake a box cake mix and cool. When it is cool just crumple it up to crumbs, add 1/2 of a jar of ready made frosting mix. Form into balls and chill for 30 min in refrigerator.
Melt chocolate chips in microwave for 30 seconds at a time, be careful not to burn. Add 2 Tb of crisco to melted chocolate and mix well. Dip sticks in chocolate then into balls, then chill in fridge for 1 hour. This is so sticks stay in.
Dip pops in melted chocolate and put desired toppings.

  • Why all the thumbs down on this vid?

  • I believe I saw "Cookie/Cake/Brownie "Pops" as a big rage way PRIOR to "STARBUCKS" getting on the bandwagon! ;-D I saw them at socials-wedding, church, picnic, shower events, carnivals, state fairs, cruise ship, bakeries, community bake sales, baking shows & websites, cafes, school lunches! First it was cupcakes (miniature to super jumbo), then it was about getting "dipped" cookies, "dipped" spoons in chocolate, Hot Chocolate (cubes) on a stick, most cafe's & bakeries offers POPS! S.B. is LATE!

  • was that peanuts on top of it?
