How To Encode Movies with Handbrake for HTC Hero: http://digitaldeverell.com/?page_id=130

This is my 2nd ROM install. Fresh 2.0d with the Helix Home screen running Live wallpapers. This ROM is pretty complete with most all apps running fine. Including Visual voice mail. This is just a recording of the responsiveness of the custom ROM. There is an edit in the middle (from portrait to landscape), to show the capabilities of playing a local movie from the SD (movie size is 585mb). I know you can't tell in the video due to the screening of my recording camera and the phone screen clashing, but the clarity of the movie is superb. All apps courtesy of the App Market for Android (FREE). Thanx to Flipzmode for his hard work and sleepless nights... great ROM! www.xda-developers.com

  • How did you get the nexus live wallpaper to work, I can get some of the other live wallpapers, but not the one you have in this vid to work ? How did you do it ?

  • @allanjnavarro Do you have the Home Switcher App? Which launcher do you prefer? I could NOT get the NexusMOD to work with the HTC Sense launcher... I first switched it to the Vanilla launcher, and have since switched to Helix and it works there (for the most part...) After falling asleep or rebooting it may disappear.

  • Hey man, this video is a bit more in depth in comparison to others i've seen. I really like what you show off. What exactly doesn't work though?

  • @Exilesandninja Thanx. As of right now, Everything functions great. NexusMOD live wallpaper drops once in awhile (though the Blue Plasma works great!). And I would like to shut off the trackball LED during video playback. I watched The Simpsons in bed with my thumb covering the base LEDs. When Flipz fixed the problematic trackball LED, he fixed it permanently.

  • Cool a tutorial would be great. I would love to have movies on my phone!

  • @Aeroking24 Can't get links in my comment replies... Click the link under the video description to view a tutorial on my website for Encoding video for the HTC Hero.

  • Is the Home Switcher App in the market ? And thank you, I used helix and was able to get that live wallpaper working!

  • @Aeroking24 - I should put a tutorial together and get my codecs correct. Audio is AAC... Don't think it matters what you start with. I've tried a dozen different settings. Currently, my successful videos are the ones I'm trying to set up for streaming thru TVersity (another Orb like program...). Once I have it down 100%, I'll post a tutorial.

  • @Aeroking24 I capture Blu-rays w/ HD-PVR 1212 to X-Box .mp4 Then re-encode with Handbrake to 480dpi, web-optimized, 96bit ACC audio at 44hz. Keep aspect ratio. Then I use Meridian Player to view.
