Yes, but listen.... JUST AS GOD COMMANDED THE UNIVERSE INTO EXISTENCE IN THE BEGINING, He LIKEWISE "COMMANDS" saving faith/saving repentance, into the darkness of our natural human sinful hearts... communicating His EFFECTUAL LIFE-GIVING CALL from the preacher to the Elect - it IS a command - and God MAKES US OBEY - THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE.

This is true Calvinistic Soteriology.

We ARE justified when God CAUSES us to obey His command.

We REPENT AND TRUST in Christ, when we OBEY God's "command" to repent and trust - but HERE'S THE DIFFERENCE-MAKER that RedBeetle doesn't understand.... God not only COMMANDS it, but also MAKES US obey that command.

So yes.... we are saved by obeying God's command ONLY BECAUSE He is the One who is EFFICATIOUSLY CAUSING US TO OBEY with His IRRESISTABLE GRACE.

-----------------------------
In answer to his further question: "Are you saying that we are justified because God has wrought in us this obedience?"...

I say.... We are justified ultimately on the BENEFITS OF CHRIST'S WORK ON THE CROSS, but these benefits are APPLIED TO US when God REGENERATES OUR HEARTS and causes us to obey His effecatious CALL/COMMAND to repent and trust in the Saviour.
