Ruthie, I just cried and cried. What is gold is underneath all that oppression, and through this beautiful book (and it IS BEAUTIFUL) you found your TRUTH. What you show us in such beauty of ASL is that this recognition, this arrival, is the safe place, where one simply stands in the facts, the deepest facts of one's own experience. So glad my friend sent this vlog for me to watch. I never heard Deafhood. Until after watching this video, it's so awesome to learn and understand better what it's REALLY about. I'm SOOOOO sick of what hearing people mistreating Deafies even in Deaf residential schools. Every person in USA, even the world, MUST watch this vlog and READ that Deaf Culture book and ATTEND "Deafhood" workshops. Hands up waving!!
