Murray Sabrin explains for On The Record in his bid for U.S. Senator of New Jersey that the expansion of money and credit to finance the U.S. occupation of Iraq has caused the inflationary crisis the USA now has. He goes on to explain how HMOs and Universal Healthcare will balloon costs and reduce care resulting in a similar economic crisis as the failed occupation of Iraq.

Overnight the US Federal Reserve said it would exchange US treasuries for mortgage backed securities in an effort to pump liquidity into the market and stop the credit crunch worsening.
The Fed coordinated its move to pump in US$200 billion with similar moves by the Bank of Canada and European Central Bank to pump in a further US$45 billion.
This shows just how worried the rest of the world's central banks are about the global credit system grinding to a halt.
The are right to be worried.

Senator Pennacchio claims: "We won the war, we're winning the 'surge'."
But if the United States had "won the war", there wouldn't have been the NEED for the surge!
I suppose it comes down to how you define "winning" in any war.
