The only downside to this song is the fact that most of the lyrics are unintelligible. The online sites that claim to have the lyrics really do not. I heard a cover version of the song by some other band, and the lyrics they sang seem to have made perfect sense, so I use their lyrics when I sing along to this classic funk. Mandrill's nod to Rodin's "The Thinker"....."Chin on your fist like a stone man...not what you think, it's what you feel." Awesome!!
One of the ALL TIME, I TRULY MEAN ALL TIME GREAT FUNK BANDS, that were hidden from the radar. These Brothers came from professional lives of doctors and lawyers, and their outlet was being superb musicians and writers of funk, soul and R&B Music. You can feel their true artistry and committment to their craft in "FENCE WALK" I saw them on a TV special, and to my surprise, many of them even DOUBLED on different instruments. -LOVE that GUITAR SOLO TOO- he took it to the very last fret! AWESOME!!
