In October 2006 we saw a beautiful white greyhound (Galgos) at the kennels in Corvera Spain. He had been a stray for around 6 months before being taken in by the Local Noahs Arc animal charity.

He was in a bad way, very thin and full of ticks and fleas. He was dehydrated and had cigarette burns to his rear quarters and also a burn to his skull!

This dog is one of those that captures your heart as soon as you meet him. He looks deep into your eyes when you stroke him, it almost as though he is looking into your soul!

The poor chap was suffering with depression when we met him. He would not eat, and spent all his time in voluntary isolation, despite vigorous attempts to socialise him.

He spent a further 8 months in the kennels before in desperation we were asked to Foster him as he seemed to be was losing the will to live.

This 2 minute video is his story and the link below takes you to where he is now.

Please rate these two videos good or bad. Lets keep these beautiful docile creatures highlighted in the hope that they are better understood and found more loving homes.
They love people, love children, and sleep for 22 hours a day, need just 40 minutes of exercise a day. And have the most charming and humorous personality (when they are awake)

I get emotional now looking at my two now at just 6 and 7 and thinking what it will be like we have to finally say goodbye! I guess your pain is still very deep but maybe in time you will be strong enough to give another Greyhound a chance? All the best Andy

  • He is so beautiful! How amazing are you for saving that beauty!

  • What kind of being lets these beauties get so thin in the first place? Previous owner should be traced and starved too.
