  • Your right it will run better with that custom exhaust, But the motor wont run longer with that exhaust. Correct mean if i am wrong.but i assume the exhaust wasnt built at a snowmobile shop and you arent a snowmobile specialist. Also i assume you havent worked with 2 stroke motors much. Over time you will slowly burn out the exhaust side of your motor. If you dont believe me pull your plugs and i bet they are pretty white. Also ask your local snowmobile shop if that exhaust will ruin your motor

  • Well I can tell you I'm not a sled specialist but I know that the current setup I'm running is not damaging the motor in any way shape or forum. Plugs are just fine, not burnt white. They are a golden/tan color which if I'm correct means the sled is getting the right air/fuel mixture with the current exhaust. I can easily see running the exhaust right off the manifold causing problems. I'm not running right off the manifold. The custom one is just like the stock exhaust just tweaked a bit

  • Word of advise....put the stock exhaust back on. Unless you dont plan to still have a running sled next season.

The exhaust you built is a good way to turn your motor into a paper weight.

  • @khonky Actually the sled runs better with the custom one compared to the old one. Have plenty of back pressure still so not going to destroy the motor. I've put over 500 miles on it with the current setup with no problems what so ever.

  • uhm guys i am a 2 stroke technician and with these old sleds the key is "flow" you have to get out more than you put in. so yes its terrrible for new sled but these do not need hardly any back pressure.

  • it will take out your crank seals

  • it is his snowmobile he can doo what he wants
