The first time they did this song it was with Chibi-Usa and Helios (Pegasus) at the beginning and then Usagi and Mamoru joined in later. I think the whole idea was that in both the past and future a princess of the moon fell in love, and that it was so the circumstances were so similar it was like destiny. I'm not sure, I haven't watched the musical it was from, I just listened to the first version and that's sure what it sounded like.
