This clip is taken from the forthcoming BBC4 series 'On Hannibal's Trail' in which Danny, Ben and Sam Wood cycle across Europe on the trail of Hannibal, the ancient warrior who marched from Spain to Rome at the head of an invading army. In this clip the three brothers race each other to the top of Mont Ventoux in the Alps.
lame sell-out divs. so shit it's good. aussie nobs on bikes, in canoes, saying 'i can only imagine how hannibal must have felt'. genius.

An excellent idea for a show, Shigawire you no idea how could they ride bikes and carry a shield and spear or an elephant?

Lame idea for a program. This belittles Hannibal Barka's perilous trek into a Tour de France show. This has nothing to do with Hannibal. Wear sandals and military equipment from the 2nd punic war. THEN make the program... WALKING :D

I would have broken the 2 hour mark. Perry

This looks so great! Can't wait to see the full version - hoping it's aired in the States as well. Well done Wood Brothers!

@ozdesmo we don't think Hannibal went over Mt Ventoux. We were nearby (At Vaison-La-Romain where Hannibal possibly settled a dispute between two brothers, one who then supplied him for his trip over the alps) and thought it would be a good challenge to climb it that's all. When the rest of the show airs later this year (in the UK) it will all make more sense.
