Ingredients:

1kg pork back strap or shoulder
¾ cup honey
¼ cup dark soy sauce (or substitute ½ cup regular soy sauce)
¼ cup Chinese rice wine
2 tsp Chinese five spice
2 tbs red bean curd (available from Asian grocers, can leave out or use a few drops of red food colouring)
½ cup hoi sin sauce

  • If this tastes anything like the Ribs you've done in a similar marinade this'll be AWESOME!! Can't wait to try this, even though it's nearly freezing outside.

  • @slidewarrior It's very similar, I've been making this for years, I came up with the idea for the ribs from this recipe, essential the same, just different cuts of meat and cooking technique.

  • I've been buying the char siu buns in chinatown for ages (2 for $1 - can't beat that) so I decided to go one step further and made the char siu myself. Excellent dish and I seriously doubt that I'll have any pork left over to make buns. lol.
