Driving in the Berkshire mountains, late winter, and saw dude on the prowl, so I quickly pulled over to film.

Awesome! Moments like this are amazing, i cherish them ! We dont have barred owls here in scotland but i spent a while studying barn owls (attempting to photograph them also with mixed results lol)

Beautiful bird, and a great video of him. However the facial markings suggest that this is a Great Grey owl, rather than a Barred Owl. Still, gorgeous!

Awesome simply awesome! Thanks that wonderful shot its always amazing to come a cross any owl type there all very inconspicuous and random when they appear almost never expected.

Those are always the best finds. Often just cruisin along..., then right before your eyes, as if God says, " Hey dude, check this out ".

He hunts from there every day I'll bet. I drive a postal route & see 1 perched at the same spot at the same time every day for weeks now. If I even start to slow my big truck down to take a pic he flies away though. They are so cool.
