Home made tracking system. http://www.free-track.net
You can see a cap with 3 IR leds mounted with the new Rise Of Flight WW1 simulator.
Cap specs: Logitech Quick Cam + filter, 3 IR leds, 3 x 1,5V battery, FreeTrack 2.2 software.
It need a bit of testing and configuration, but performs very well in dogfights.

  • nice track IR like - for less !

  • Yes, a cheap tracking system. Now I get a wiimote (more precise) and I'm trying to get it work well. Tnx 4 comment.

  • hmm im planing on getting it to what webcam u got and what did u need to do on it?

  • All you need is on the video description at top right page (click on "more info")

Now I'm using a Nintendo Wiimote and works better than webcam. I need to replace this IR's led to other with better vision angle, but any kind of IR's can do the trick.

  • i have a Bike Light whit 3 leds and im gonna buy a Webcam i know wich 1 to get i have seen a video of a guy modding it for Freetrack so i know what to do and i know that it works

  • Hey. Good for you. Glad you got a Track IR alternative. Have fun with RoF. The game cries out for some ort of head tracking. What a boost in realism to just turn your head and follow the enemy plane.
