  • The Ventures are the BEST band in the history of surf Music. That is of course bands that did not sing. The Shadows were not good enough to carrry The Ventures band gear.....of course that just my feelings.

  • wonderful drumming

  • What's amazing to me is that this band didn't say a mumbling word throughout the concert and were as entertaining as other band concerts with vocalists spitting lyrics... REBT.

  • nobody rocked liked the V's

    all other bands copycats

  • @betojoven The Ventures only had a few of minor singles hits all covers, Ok so they sold albums in that hotbed of rock and roll knowledge---Japan !!! The Shadows on their own had hits world wide All of Europe, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand etc. I consider myself a Ventures fan but I just don't like their performances, just look at this video, the drummer is great but the other 3 look like frightened schoolboys nervously glancing at each other. CHECK OUT MY COMPARISONS !!!

  • @betojoven Sorry but I can't agree the Shadows had 62 chart entries 49 top ten entries and 8 no 1's all their no 1 singles were written by them or for them All The Ventures recordings are covers. It's not until you see them together that you see the vast gap between them (see The Ventures-The Shadows Apache comparison) Americans seem to look at The Ventures through rose coloured glasses because I have never seen or heard them performing well. Joe Cocker & Stevie Windwood were both Pre Beatles

  • @museack We don't have to "remember" The Shadows because they are still current, we are

not in any way green with envy about American achievements because we have

just as many of our own.The Web for instance was invented by Sir Tim Berners

Lee in Britain. I would never say British groups are better both countries

have produced excellent ones. Rock and roll was started in the US but wouldn't

have survived without it's reinvention in Britain.See Ventures Shadows Apache

    comparison.

  • Superhuman instrumental performance!

  • @fincaman2

You know, you people need to get over yourselves. Whatever the "touring" success of the "shadows" was, no one remembers them like they do the Ventures now do they? That is except for you people in europe that are green with envy about everything America excels at. Why not just accept your plight in life and stfu, because it gets oooold reading about how all these groups from europe are supposedly better than American groups. Just try to remember where rock n' roll started.

  • @museack Sorry wrong again The Shadows had hits in England,Scotland, Ireland, wales,Germany,France,Italy, Holland, New Zealand,Australia, etc etc. they had 69 chart entries 29 top ten entries and 8 no1s all their tours are sold out within days of being released.search "Ventures-shadows riders in the sky comparison" to compare

  • @fincaman2 "IF" what you say is true, then why is it no one remembers the "shadows" like they do the Ventures, unless, that is, you're a Brit? Outside of the UK the Ventures were much more poplar and well known. You people that have to belittle the Ventures in order to promote the diminutive "shadows" need to grow up and move on.

  • Nokie's solo on Bulldog is so beautiful and elegant.

C'mon enough of the Shads vs V's pissing contest. Let's talk about this great video.
