Los Angeles DWP Employees going to Strip Club, Drinking and Driving during work

Three month of Undercover work done by CBS News discovers that Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LA DWP) employees Drink and Drive during work hours in their company trucks. They even go to Strip Club. All this happens while the rest of the county is in Economic Crisis. It's all because of the Powerful Unions.

@Emilgas- I am a DWP employee. The behavior of these fellow employees is disgraceful, embarrassing, and they deserve the harshest punishment in no uncertain terms. That being said, stop broad brushing the rest of us like we are no good. And if the unions were all powerful as you suggest, this story would never have gotten past Goldstein's editor.

As far as the Media... if it wasn't for that report nobody whould have known. So he did the right thing in my opinion. By the way all those guys got was just a day or two suspension. LOL I would want to have a union backing me up like that.

Do you think the corporations are going to treat you with respect and pay you decent wages out of the goodness of their hearts? You have to be kidding me on that one. My friend, ya better tell yer colleagues to stop taking "lunch" immediately after starting shifts, parking on handicap ramps and taking up two spaces while taking two+ one-hour breaks 15 minutes after starting their shifts.

I have been documenting such abuses for two years. Such misuse of company vehicles, padding of time cards and theft (yes, "theft"; it would be considered exactly that in the private sector) is not a "bad apple" problem.

I'm a manager at EDCO (waste management company) and we had the same issue with our employees. So it can happen anywhere if management doesn't crack down.

I can't and won't say what all DWP workers do, but I dated one for a year and he worked hard when he worked...but much of his days were spent Facebooking with me, texting with me, talking on the phone with me, he and his partner checked out car shows, shopped down at Ports O'Call, etc ALL during business hours. I used to meet him on weekends, where he stayed parked, and we spent time together during business hours. He makes over 100K a year...tax dollars well spent! LOL

This was all bullshit and taken care of. These were power employees. Not all dwp employees. They work hard to take care of their families. by the way, the secretary"s of these departments are whores or should i say, the receptionsts have affairs with married men, they know who they are. look @ all the central women in downtown area. fricken whores. you better be careful!!!!!

Yeah, its all because of the unions that these zeroes were drinking and driving and hitting the strip club during work hours. By definition, all non-union workers are the epitome of good judgement and work ethics without fail simply because they are non-union.
