Anticipating Mexico's grand double anniversary in 2010-- the 200th anniversary of Mexico's independence from Spain, and the 100th anniversary of Mexico's Revolution of 1910--the University of St. Thomas hosted the conference Mosaics of Faith: the Mexican Experience in March 2009. Sponsors of the Conference examine the role of faith in the history of Mexico. They address the problems facing the country today and consider the value of Darkness into Light, a three part documentary series, in demonstrating Mexicos past and present struggles.

Participants include co-director of the conference, Dr. Rogelio Garcia-Contreras, and sponsors RoseMary Salum, founder and director of Literal, Carlos I. Gonzalez, Consul General of Mexico, and Dr. Dominic Aquila, UST-Houston Vice President of Academic Affairs
