Deaf and Disabled Artist Festival Arrives in Glasgow!!!!

Dadafest, the disability and deaf arts festival, comes to Glasgow for the first time in 2010. Already a success in Liverpool, the festival will have performances around the city. In association with Birds of Paradise, Solar Bear and Scottish Dance theatre.

Who Is Asphyxia?
Asphyxia is an Australian Deaf circus performer and puppeteer. She has over 12 years experience as a professional artist, working all over the world. Her show 'The Grimstones -- Hatched' is the fifth show she has created and made from just an idea to a full theatrical production ready to tour the world!

Asphyxia will be performing in the Arches on Monday 15th November at the Arches in the Studio Theatre. Tickets are available at the Arches Box office - Mon 15 Nov 2010, 7pm

Performance Skills Workshops and AUSLAN for everyone with Asphyxia

Asphyxia has runs Sky Works, which is a deaf theatre company, one of only two professional deaf theatre companies in Australia. Asphyxia has toured all over the world working with trapeze, hula-hoops and marionette puppetry (Puppets with strings)

Saturday 13th November 2010 10am - 4pm -£5
Movement, Performance and Circus Skills for young people and Auslan for everyone.
The recommended age for this workshop is age 8 up. Adults are welcome as it will be full of fun, exciting, creative, activities.
Here's your opportunity to learn this beautiful language of the Australian Deaf. Auslan is especially poetic and beautiful when signed to music, and as an added bonus, it's easier to remember signs learnt this way. Join Asphyxia, , as she teaches the Australian classic song 'My Island Home' in Auslan. This workshop is a delightful combination of music, song and dramatic expression, guaranteed to get you smiling.




There will be a Sign Language Interpreter provided for both BSL and Auslan signs.

write, dance, sculpt or make puppets from car bog this workshop is for you.
Recommended for 8 years to adults • This workshop is in Auslan, English and BSL

All materials will be provided
