Made by The National Film Board 1948. Directed by Jim Pearson. As a contribution to the cause of road safety Sir Donald Bradman world famous cricketer, played the lead in this film for children. The theme is cricket played in casual suburban small boy fashion, with a narrow street for the oval and a petrol tin for the wicket. Sir Donald comes on the scene and demonstrates the virtues of safety first as a must for those who aspire to play a test cricket for Australia.

  • 7:20 is Collaroy beach!

  • @eagleboy21 Thanks for the information, always helpful. A lot of this was shot at Bondi Beach too.

  • Yes the irony of it all. Perhaps it was filmed under "controlled conditions".

  • Fuckin hipsters and their fixies.

  • Ahhh how pedophiles have changed

  • While I'm not from Australia, I do agree with what this video is saying.

  • It'd be less "Gee, aren't you Don Bradman" and more like "HOLY SHIT, DON BRADMAN!" in real life.

  • Yes Its so dangerous they get the kids to do it for the camera

Jumping on and off trams and buses...so dangerous they have the children do it.

    How things have changed....

Not to mention a strange man picking up young boys and putting them in his car

Even if it was Bradman..............As you can see by my comments even attitudes have changed...A great look at how things were.....A more inocent time...
