Here`s a musical tribute to a fantastic musician and fellow Minnesotan, Dudley "Tiny" Little Jr who passed away on March 3, 2010. Tiny was the son of another prominet midwest bandleader in the 1930`s. He began playing piano at age 5 and was hired by Lawrence as a 3rd pianist on August 27, 1955. Tiny remained with the Welk show until July 18, 1959 when he decided to break out on a musical career on his own much to Lawrence`s dismay. As we know, Tiny went onto a very sucessful career over the next 40 years on his own. This clip featured now is a riveting performance of "Marianne" one of my favorite clips of Tiny (1957).
No one on Lawrence Welk I liked better.
