  • There are many beautiful interpretations of this song, but this still remains as the most beautiful; perfect timing, voice, and feelings

  • @LeafeonandSunshine You have no soul. People like you are hardly distinguishable from their carcasses.

  • I won't write a comment, because I am not able to express my feelings in words. We have to invent a new kind of language...

  • @saarinmaki

    Thank you very much!

  • @ProfRonconi This is from waldbuhne 2006-conductor neeme jarvi--you will find it on presto classical--the dvd is called sheherazade--and now she is singing mimi in la boheme in oslo opera house-glorious! breathtaking!such beautiful singing i didnt hear for years-i just cried

  • @ProfRonconi A break, a breath, call it what you want. There should not be a "break" right before those final three eight notes (E-G#-B). There's a slur over all of them right before the A. Again, beautiful singing, just a poor decision. That's all.

Seconded! I need to find a studio or theatre version of this on DVD or CD. I've found nothing on Amazon. Any suggestions? Anyone? Please?

Oh my God! Since when has listening to a song become a study of the physiology of the respiratory system? By paying attention to such trifles you are missing the profound and ineffable experience of beauty. Don't approach a thing of beauty with the heartless snobbery of a sommelier: it is harmful both to you and to beauty.

Yes, we can have different tastes, but this mesmerising performance does not deserve to be brushed aside with a banal and idiotic comment."Boring"? Is that all?

Some people are clearly distinguishable form their carcasses. I'm sure you are. All it takes is the ability to detect even a tiniest spark of the numinous and the sublime. I'll go even further: whoever is incapable of being moved by this song is incapable of loving.

  • @ProfRonconi a little harsh don't you think for someone who just found this boring. i agree it is sublime, but perhaps our friend has different and specific tastes. besides who among us is not "hardly distinguishable from her/his carcass"? lighten up francis.

  • This is good, she has a great voice. But for this particular piece, I still think Sylvia Mcnair (Jeffrey Tate/Berliner) is the best. The extra breath Solberg takes before the high A made the difference. Otherwise, she's flawless.

  • So beautiful!
