This is a provincially produced cartoon, but there are also plagiarized animations run on CCTV, a recent and rather unpleasant trend, perhaps due to the popularity of anime and other Japanese cultural imports (like Ultraman yay!) since the early 90s. Hi, just so everyone's on the same page: the song is made as a parody mocking the blatant, downgraded copy of Macross/Gundam, which is why it is Lion dubbed with Chinese lyrics. If you understand the lyrics, it's actually very witty but has a really biting tone criticizing the unfortunate production of this made in China cartoon. On the other hand, China has made some quite impressive animations of its own style ranging from Princess Metal Fan in 1941, Havoc in Heaven in 1964 (cont.)
