The world is ending on Saturday, so please make sure all your homework is turned in by Friday. And maybe that guy can finally go to his prom, but will there even be one? And one consolation: no 2012 election! Uncle Jay explains.

  • @squidb8 Please, stop, you're embarrassing yourself. Religion is responsible for more death and torture in this world than anything else. Of course HUMANS are the common denominator, humans invented religion. Well, weak willed, stupid humans did.

  • @Argentium009 : Use, human instead of Chrianity and Schopenauer would have a correct assesment. It wasn't for Christianity that hostages were sacraficed on top of temples in South America, or worked to death in the Gulag, or burned alive in in wicker baskets in the Gaul, and Britania. It was all mans attempt to have dominion on another man.

The common denominator in the second you second quote is humans

  • @squidb8 “The fruits of Christianity were religious wars, butcheries, crusades, inquisitions, extermination of the natives of America and the introduction of African slaves in their place” -Arthur Schopenhauer

“We all remember how many religious wars were fought for a religion of love and gentleness; how many bodies were burned alive with the genuinely kind intention of saving souls from the eternal fire of hell” -Karl Popper

  • @Argentium009 : Considering the knuckleheads he's had to work with, yes, he's done a exemplary job. There has never been a time when we haven't tried to destroy ourselves in pursuit of "progress", it just so happens that only in the modern age have we ever had the power to do so.

Even crazy people think themselves sane until some outside entity points out some key events to convince them otherwise, so by what measure are you using for this self dianosis

  • @squidb8 Yes, because the spirit of God has been doing SO MUCH to prevent those things so far.

P.S. Just noticed a typo, I meant "sane people" not "same people" in the original comment.
