I recently traveled to the home office of Karl Warkomski, Director of Conservation for ProtaCulture, a manufacturer of a most unique composting device. The BioPod Plus utilizes the black soldier fly grub's voracious eating habits to quickly break down kitchen scraps into compost, compost tea, and lots and lots of nutritious and free chicken food.

  • @PleaseCrySomeMore, that's probably the most existential question that anyone's ever posted to my videos. Have you ever read any Franz Kaftka or Thomas Mann?

  • So far, all the info on this product looks overwhelmingly positive...I actually got some bsf in my patially buried bottomless trashcan that we put our kitchen wastes in to keep critters out of the compost piles....I am interested in getting one of these for koi food, and eventually starting a commercial enterprise of aquaponics/ local organic food/ waste relief...

  • I live in Idaho and I don't think I've ever seen or heard of these kind of flies. I would be interested in these if I could be sure that they would start naturally. If I can't start it naturally how expensive is it to start these with a bought supply? I would have to bring them inside for about 5 months out of the year.
