Prior to Mylon's departure from the Christian Music scene in the early 70's, he released his first solo album entitled, "MYLON (We Believe)" The album is considered by some to be the first true "Jesus Rock" album. It included the classic song, "Gospel Ship," setting the familiar Southern Gospel melody to rock-n-roll tempo. This is an honest and pure pouring out of his love for Christ.

@diamonddhk222 Hi Diamond, I think you might be in error regarding Mylon being the lead singer for Deep Purple. I know that he did tour with a lot of secular bands for awhile but do not recall him with Deep Purple, when ?? Cheers !

This is a great song, but the recording is pretty weak.
