The Kuala Selangor Nature Park (KSNP), also known as Taman Alam Kuala Selangor, has been managed by the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) since 1987, and is one of the best places to enjoy nature in Selangor. This is especially so for birds enthusiasts, as it has been identified as an Important Bird Area (IBA) by BirdLife International.

The whole area formerly consisted of only mangrove forests, but after the coastal bund was built, the result was that the mangroves were unable to flourish compared to before as forest species thrived and dominated the area. Hence, as of now, the park spans over 201 hectares in area, with 95 hectares being the mangrove forest and the rest are secondary forests (source).

The main highlights of this wetland park are the 3 different types of habitats - (i) brackish lake (read about brackish water here), (ii) mangroves and mud flats, and (iii) secondary forests (read about secondary forests here); whereby 156 species of birds (resident and migratory) have been documented seen here so far. The park is also home to a variety of insects, reptiles, crabs, mammals, etc.
