Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Troy, NY, (USA.) Tommy reminisces about Les' 90th birthday tribute at Carnegie Hall and recounts a story Les told about Judy Garland before launching into his amazing version of "Over the Rainbow."

A virtuoso performance from one of the world's best guitarists in an acoustically perfect music hall (look it up.) For fan-shot, I think this video came out really good!

  • Thanks for posting this. We were at this show.

  • @MrGzumcro It was a good one, alright

  • I think Tommy Emmanuel is one of the greatest guitar players ever, but who was the ass shining the blue laser on him during his performance???

  • @muzikfreek1000 That's hysterical! It's a defect with my camera - a dead pixel in the sensor or something. You see it when you zoom in tight. I have a better camera now, but that was all I had at the time.

  • cherish all Tommy's music-it is a gift from the heavens

  • June 2008 at the Colonial Theater in Phoenixville, Penna. with no electricity and a flashlight spot, Tommy played this song. The first time I ever heard one guitarist orchestrate a popular song. It brought tears to my eyes: So lovely. So full of emotion. He doesn't need an amplifier for this one.

  • When i heard him playing the first time i said to myself ... it couldn't get better then this.... I'm glad he proved me how wrong i was... ty Tommy

  • God what gift to this earth, to have such a gift of god for everyone to enjoy. I see him in Sept 2011 at New Brunswick and I can't wait to hear this song. He is GOD. I LOVE HIM. JM

  • 5:25 Proof that this man is indeed one of the most outstanding entertainers. It courses through his blood. He could have easily ignored the early clapping and continued with his tribute... but he didn't. He took it and made a simple gesture. Reason why I adore him so.

  • @upst8 Hahaha! That broke me up, thanks for that :)

  • Incredible!....he said it all with that tune, RIP Les Paul...

  • Tommy is a six string orchestra, he takes the instrument to new heights.
