Foreign oil is more profitable than domestic because more of the profits avoid US taxes. Republicans receive 89% of oil company political donations. The oil industry installed their own administration in 2000 and wrote their own policies to increase our dependence on foreign oil, including 800,000 new SUVs pushing energy independence far out of reach. We are now spending trillions to protect oil companies in the Middle East, in direct conflict with the best interests of the American people.

A bill to invest in clean energy will stimulate economic growth through the clean energy industry, make us more competitive in the booming international energy tech market, and, as this video shows, protect our vets from fighting wars that could be prevented by a little innovation. I found this ad quite moving and I hope Senators in all states will listen up and consider the vast benefits clean energy investment promises for us. We need to pass serious legislation soon.

Just more demonization of Iran to prepare the Am. people for America's attack on that nation. Remember Iraq? Remember the Weapons of Mass Destruction that didn't exist? Dude, when the convoys run past your place regularly you don't need anyone to tell you where to place the roadside bombs, you know. In much of Iraq and Afghanistan (I have spent a year in both places) the road network is poorly developed so it's not like there are a lot of alternate routes to take to avoid a percieved danger area. Finding the convoy is easy.

What is the point of demonizing other countries for owning the resources we want? We are mad that we have to pay more for the oil, so we should just go there and wreck the place (!?!) and TAKE IT (that's what these damned oil wars are about), and now the vets are on TV whining about getting hurt and killed doing the bombing and shooting...and THAT'S the best reason to stop climate change? Give me a break! WAR is the worst polluter, gas-guzzling tanks, nature-pulverizing bombs. STOP WAR NOW!
