"The controversy over live fire training hasn't really reached our area."
Our state environmental division has very strict regulations regarding live burns. Basically, you have to remove everything that isn't wood. At that point, it's not as valuable for training.
Also, NFPA has very specific guidelines regarding live burns. If they're not followed and someone gets injured, they'll hang it on your ass....

Yeah. The controversy over live fire training hasn't really reached our area. The decision to take a reporter into the structure has caused a little debate within the department, although there wasn't that much fire when she was inside.
