Love her voice. She was @ Greater Mount Calvary Holy Church last week and she still has just as much power as she did on this recording. Even at 85 she still preaching the word of God. God bless you Rev Tucker.

Oh, this wonderful, thanks for sharing!!!!!!!

Y'all Can stil hear Pastor Ardell Tucker. Her church is in Connecticut. She is still going strong!

She's got the DNA of Madame Emily Bram. Same huge volume, same straight-ahead phrasing. She must be the last of the sanctified powerhouses. A rare discovery! Ernestine Washington, Goldia Haynes, Madame Bram, and Jessie Mae Renfro will have to find room for Ardell Tucker in their choir.

Were they the first to record this song or Inez Andrews? 5 stars all the way.

Thanks for listening!
Doris Akers wrote the song, and she recorded it with her choir in 1958. Mahalia Jackson, co-writer, recorded it in 1958. Inez Andrews recorded this either in the late 60's or early 70's. This recording, from the Twin Evangelists, was done in the late 70's.
